Pascal has undertaken research in a number of domains at different stages of his professional career, mainly in the areas of economic analysis, tourism business and marketing, evaluation and assessment of policies and strategies aiming to enhance economic capabilities in northern Australia and address workforce challenges, including surrounding Aboriginal communities.

He has contributed applied research (academic publications and consultancies) related to tourism, transport infrastructure, health, education, resources and extractive industries, agri-business supply chains, government procurement, financial/economic literacy, the arts sector, protected areas and wildlife management.

He has supervised doctoral work linked with tourism, entrepreneurship and innovation, industrial networks, joint ventures, risk governance around major resources projects, aquaculture in South-East Asia, and policy analysis.
